This month is always fun without a doubt. It is also the land of due dates and shows :-). So much has happened since I wrote last. I won First Place: Design at the ArtSPARK, part of Visual Art Exchange’s SPARKcon festival held in Raleigh. I was able to give workshops on chalking to high school students – that was fun and I really enjoyed working with the kids and then giving them back! Hah! I am still showing Margaux’s – a night of celebration for the show is coming on November 14 from 5:30-7:30. It will be fun! More details to come. I am in the Exchange Gallery of Visual Art Exchange this month. There are two works: “Crux” and “Petulance and Peeve in a Cardinal Game”, the latter is the newest work. If you happen to see it, I am looking for feedback (firstname.lastname@example.org). I’m beginning to explore people. It is different avenue for me, but I’m liking the challenge. I’ve started re-looking at my favorite artists works. I hope it shows :-). I entered Purvis and Carlotta into the State Fair – because of size restrictions I could not last year. We’ll see what happens. November I will be showing at the Harrison Library on Newbern Avenue. Our Gallery, Tipping Paint Gallery will be featuring a holiday show entitled “7, Not your Average Holiday Show” where I will have smaller works available. I’m in the middle of them now – by the way, after working very hard to paint large, going back to small canvases is a challenge. Especially since I have had huge problems locating small brushes. What the heck did I do with them ? :-). As we jump full force into this season of family and friendship, take a moment to take a deep breath and hug the ones closest to you. It is a crazy ride this life and sometimes we really do need to slow down and enjoy the now. My Charlotte told me today that since school started she doesn’t get to see me very much because I’m always working. That is sad y’all. Again, Breathe :-).
As added bonus, the Family will travel to Charlotte Thursday for Foundation Fest. Fun Family Day, YAY!!!!!!!! And I get to go to IKEA for the gallery, my studio and me ;-).
