I am finally set up and beginning to paint artwork again. The studio is mostly resolved – I have to find a way to store my work, but that is a project for the near future :-). I like being here very much, but I miss Family, Friends and Home.
I am hoping visiting the multitude of places I want to go will inspire new work. – This place is a hotbed of beautiful old architecture and history. My favorite thing about the area is, what I term ,”rock bed swamps” dotting the landscape everywhere. North Carolina swamps down east are very different and I never envisioned so many swampy spaces in shallow rocky divots just around the corner. The wildflowers at the end of summer were beautiful! This town near the Massachusetts/New Hampshire line made me think of towns back home :-)
Now that I am settling in, am starting a new series based on roads/travel/things passed by. It is a subject I keep returning to and a good place to start work in a new space. As I progress, I will share. I leave you with the first panel in the series – a fresh view on an old idea :-).
